Where you the person who hated into the wild because I have to read it for school and oh boy do I fucking HATE IT I wanna slam choke Chris McCandless fucking fake deep rich white boy

systlin:

YES I fucking HATE that book.

Fucking fake deep clueless rich white boy who met an entirely predictable end.

Ugh! I hated that book SO MUCH. Had to read it in hs and couldn’t stand how it was billed as this beautiful adventure tale of a guy who left it all behind to ~commune with nature~. Like, motherfucker, this bratty little boy decides to go die in the woods instead of deal with life – that’s not inspiring.

Ugh, I had to read this for school almost 8 years ago and I’m still not over it.

“There comes to town, adorned with summer beauty,
the Weed-month, August.
It brings to the people Lammas day.
So comes the harvest-time, about another month,
high autumn, beautiful, burdened with fruits—
prosperity will be revealed fairly upon the earth.”

You will meet many types of people in your life. You will meet delicate flowers, raging oceans, quiet forests, towering mountains, and colourful skies. You will meet thunderstorms, you will meet lightning. They will knock you down, they will leave you breathless. You will meet sunrises, you will meet gardens. They will give you light, they will take you on adventures. Explore them. Get lost with them. They all have something to teach you.

Reblog if you want to people to come into your inbox and tell you what type of person you are to them – gardens? a sea storm? a sunrise that is brilliant and bold, or a sunrise that that is soft and pale with mist and promise? anything or everything…

Please I beg of you

I would love that.
