admit it, we were all primed to hate america from the start because that fucker in Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron tried to hurt the horse and they made sure to put that American flag RIGHT THERE IN THE SHOT and then follow it with some BLATANT AND AWFUL RACISM…..they would not have the balls to release that movie now….the bryan adams bops……the female directors….the blatant american colonialism callout…….a masterpiece of american cinema
dating is supposed to be empowering. it’s supposed to make you feel good. it should be about two people, enthusiastically wanting to get to know each other and spend time together. it’s supposed to make you feel good and add joy and fun to your life
if talking to/dealing with/dating/getting to know a person isn’t like that, it’s probably a waste of time

Went amber-hunting on a beach in Skåne, Sweden, today and found these beauties! ☀️
Tips for amber-hunting that the wonderful woman I met who got me in to amber-hunting taught me:
• Look for amber in the seaweed that’s washed up on the beach! The small stones get tangled in it
• Look for amber after a storm! The beach will be full of new seaweed to look through
• Looking for bigger amber? Go out in the sea after a storm or stong winds with a landing net and collect and look through seaweed, the big stones may hide in it
• Let the sun help you! On sunny days the amber glows
• You can also use a flashlight to make the amber glow! This works best when it’s dark out
• Did you know that amber glows in UV-light? Buy a UV-flashlight and go hunting in the dark!
• Don’t know if it’s amber? Amber has a kind of waxy texture when gently bitten or tapped against your teeth. It also feels a little bit like plastic, as well as being lighter and warmer than stones.
And a tip from me:
• Be patient. It’s HARD to find amber! Sometimes you can look for a long time and find nothing, and when you finally find something it’s usually super small pieces. But it’s SO rewarding and fun, trust me!
Good luck amber-hunting! ☀️
(Remember that not all beaches have amber, sadly)
Also, because I remember some of these stories, make sure that what you are picking up is actually amber and not phosphorus. Which will ignite when dry and has caused 2nd and 3rd degree burns in beach goers who put pieces in their pockets thinking they were taking amber home.
Buying a car and getting a tattoo this weeekend, and driving back up to Portland next weekend. If that ain’t ending the summer in style, then idk what is.
You might find your god in marble pillars and leaping bonfires. You might find Them on a trip to somewhere far away, where everything seems far more impressive simply because it is new.
But go back to your home and the little plants by the sidewalk and the tiny stream that flows only after a heavy rain. Go back to the moss on old bricks and the sunlight shining through your kitchen. Close your eyes and listen to the song the robins sing and the volumes the cicadas speak at night. Place your hand to your wrist or neck and feel your heartbeat.
Your god is there within the tiny things of everyday life. Grand temples and museums cannot hold Them in one place. Gods are vast–They are too Much to be in just a few things. Instead, They are scattered. Instead, They are numerous. You do not need to look far away to find Them.
I literally looked away for half an hour and now this has started to go around.
comparing gandalf vs dumbledore is childish but not bc “it’s pointless to argue about such things, everyone can like who they want” or some little bitch shit like that but because gandalf is so many leagues beyond anything dumbledore could ever hope to have achieved that it’s like why even bother. why even attempt
gandalf is (literally.) an angel and he knows how to smoke and party. the only thing that could take him down was a literal demon and even then he just resurrected stronger than ever before with some sexy new clothes. dumbledore lost to a chemistry professor
THANK YOU!!!
the greatest skill a woman can learn for herself is self reliance
to clarify … so many strong women in my life rely on men. that dependence is dangerous. ladies here are some good ref resources I’ve found helpful on my journey towards self reliance
automobile
plumbing
electrical
home
this list is in no way comprehensive feel free to add on
a lot of ‘man things’ are a lot easier than you think they are. especially considering the fact that most of these things when buying the parts come with directions on the packaging that men usually don’t even look at (and often end up doing it wrong because they were taught by fathers who also did not look at the packaging).
like i recently had to change my car battery and freaked out cause i thought id electrocute myself but turns out new batteries come with directions and its the easiest shit in the world so long as you can lift the damn thing.
so yeah, ladies dont ever feel like a man is a necessity for life, you can do this shit on your own its easier than you think!
